Obidos
Obidos is one of Portugal's most charming medieval towns, embracing centuries of history among its stoned walls...
While strolling along Obidos' cobblestone streets, we are transported to an era where time moves at a different pace. Along the winding pathways, windowsills and balconies are adorned with bright pink bougainvillaea, and the whitewashed houses are painted with traditional yellow and blue stripes that fill the village with colour.
The same joy is present in the unmistakable flavour of Ginginha de Obidos, which you can find in one of the many typical handicraft shops or cafés in the village.
Events in Obidos annually attract thousands of visitors. The most famous include the International Chocolate Festival, the Holy Week of Obidos, the Medieval Fair, Folio – Obidos International Literature Festival - and Obidos Vila Natal (Christmas celebrations).
The beaches of Covoes, d'El Rei, Rei Cortico and Bom Sucesso are an example of the untouched beauty of the coast that stretches south of Obidos Lagoon.
Many foreigners have also chosen to buy their dream home in Obidos because of the various walking and cycling routes along the lagoon, which are great for nature lovers and outdoor sports.
Several prestigious Silver Coast golf courses are also just a short drive away, with spectacular views and high-quality facilities.
A perfect place to invest in a second home for holidays in Portugal or permanent living!

Obidos Lagoon
Obidos Lagoon is perfect for anyone who appreciates fresh air! A wonderful spot for water sports (windsurfing, paddle, kitesurfing, canoeing, water skiing …), hiking, cycling, bird watching or pick-nicks near the calm waters.
This is the most extensive coastal lagoon system on the Portuguese coast, with many species of wildlife that benefit from the unspoilt nature of this beautiful region of Portugal.
Land of traditions, to this day fishermen and seafarers still use the typical “bateira” boats, which every two years are immersed in water and then repainted.
