Route: Obidos Lagoon to Obidos Castle

Distance: 33 km round trip

Description: A relatively flat but thoroughly enjoyable mountain bike ride from the Southside of the Obidos Lagoon to Obidos Castle and back. With the majority of the ride being off-road, enjoy stunning scenery along the edge of the lagoon, through forests and along a peaceful canal, before arriving at the magnificent Obidos Castle. The lagoon, fauna, and flora are always different and this is a very scenic ride for all levels of cyclists.

 

 

Route: Sao Martinho do Porto to Nazare

Bike: Mountain Bike

Distance: 33 km round trip

Description: Not the easiest of courses, plenty of hills and challenging tracks, but the views are sensational. Most of the ride is along the beautiful Serra da Pescaria from Sao Martinho do Porto to Nazare, with amazing views over the Atlantic or winding paths through lush forest on the return leg. Not for beginners, but certainly worth the effort.

 

 

Route: Foz do Arelho to Salir do Porto to Tornada

Bike: Mountain Bike

Distance: 48 km round trip

Description: A diverse and scenic course, that takes in forest and nature, lagoon and ocean views... all in one ride and suitable for most cyclists. If ever there was a bike ride that showcases the raw natural beauty of the Silver Coast, this may be it. Firstly coastal, from Salir do Porto to Foz do Arelho. Then along the Obidos Lagoon before cutting along the bottom of the Serra do Bouro, through forests and farmlands to Tornada. Finally, arriving back to the bay for a much-deserved lunch on the beachfront.

 

 

Route: Nazare to Maceira

Bike: Road Bike

Distance: 78 km round trip

Description: A road cyclist's dream with dream views. Miles and miles of quiet roads, in fantastic condition, with very little traffic and wonderful surroundings. Starting in the ancient fishing village of Nazare, along the ‘Atlantic Road’ with sensational views and via some of the most breathtaking beaches and coastline. Before, going through a secluded forest, past mining quarries and quaint villages. Suitable for all levels.

 

 

Route: Nazare to Alcobaca to Sao Martinho do Porto

Bike: Road Bike

Distance: 48 km round trip

Description: A reasonably flat, exceptionally beautiful course for road bikes. Involving two of the most popular beach locations on the Silver Coast: Nazare and Sao Martinho do Porto. Via the magnificent Alcobaca Monastery, with some charming villages on the way and wonderful scenic surroundings. Not too hilly but still a good workout for all cyclists, thankfully, many places to stop on this journey through some of the Silver Coast's most iconic locations.
